Many of you have asked for an inexpensive, compact shortwave option that also allowed for monitoring of the HF amateur radio bands. We delivered.
The Tecsun PL-368 is a handheld AM/FM and Shortwave radio that is perfect for any EMCOMM disaster preparedness kit or communications cache. The ability to receive not just broadcast radio but also the entirety of the HF bands, including SSB, cements this little radio as a must-have item.
Unlike most other radios of its type, the Tecsun PL-368 has a keypad for direct entry of frequencies, making tuning fast and effortless. The kit includes a standard retractable whip antenna and a dedicated ferrite antenna optimized for HF reception. It has everything you need for a grab and go setup and one that I personally carry when I'm on the road.
Product Description
TECSUN PL368 is a portable PLL DSP multiband receiver with SSB and Synchronous Detection. It introduces Tecsun's new ETM+ feature which gives the possibility of setting up time-specific memories for longwave, medium wave (AM) and shortwave.
Its compact size is ideal for travelling. Let the radio wake you up in the morning by setting the alarm, or set the sleep timer to auto turn-off the device while listening before going to sleep. Neat little radio. Definitely a small learning curve as I have no experience in this area, but I am making headway. Items were well packed, and I received them quickly. Shipping progress was well communicated. Couldn't be happier. Will be back for more items. Thanks
Just getting familiar with the radio. Pretty straight forward. The user manual that came with it was all in Chinese but the English version is easy to find and download. No brainer. Battery was charged. It had a couple of the standard setting already in place. All controls seem to work fine. Buttons are small but they are on most of the HTs if you have normal fingers. No big. Cold fingers might be an issue but a twig or stylus will fix that. Still playing with it but have NO issues so far. Should make a great mobile listening tool. Service from Brushbeater was perfect. Fast. Good comms. Good product. Will be going back for more toys.
I have had this radio for a few years.
Being an senior, I find it hard to read the screen and screened printing on the face- why in the hell do they use light gray printed letters that almost blends in with the color of the body?
It seems almost all manufacturers do this on remote controls and a host of other electronics. It's a frigging consipracy!
Exactly what I was looking for in a shortwave receiver. Good to go
Received the PL-368 from the brush beater store. The radio is great quality, sounds good,
battery life is very good, and the unit is light and compact. The keypad and labels are small so get your glasses out if you have older eyes. All the controls are responsive. The manual and labeling on the box are all Chinese. But you can easily get the English manual online. But you'll be able to operate the radio right out of the box.
I would buy it again and recommend it to anyone wanting to get a starter shortwave radio. I shop at the Brushbeater store.
