The TinySA is an incredibly powerful Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) collection tool which displays a broad spectrum of received signals in real time. Much of the appeal of using software defined radio (SDR) in the SIGINT role is for its visual capabilities. This eliminates the need for requiring a laptop or tablet and puts that capability in a field portable kit.
The TinSA Ultra is the best of the small spectrum analyzers currently offered on the market. With a 4in color touch screen, it displays both the spikes as well as a waterfall for signal analysis. In the SIGINT course we attach these to improvised Yagis and Jungle Antennas for broadband signals collection and radio direction finding (RDF). Its wideband reception capability (100 khz – 5.3Ghz) receives not only radio traffic but anything else in the upper ends of the RF spectrum, providing early warning against cell phones, advanced 4G/5G based ground communications, and drones.
I consider this the critical tool for tactical signals exploitation (TSE), followed by a communications receiver.

Great piece of equipment. Awesome for tracking down signals and checking for spurious emissions. Love the audio port. I’m able to not only see signals onnthe active waterfall, but also listen to them on a set of headphones using the 3.5mm jack. Would highly recommend this piece of gear.

Nice piece of gear
I’ve had this a little over a week, so I’m still getting used to it. Setup was easy using the directions from American Partisan and the Brushbeater forum. So far I have been doing spectrum analysis from my home, portable ops come later. The unit works as advertised. Coupled with a receiver of some sort it is a useful SIGINT tool.

I don’t understand what all I’m doing yet, but I’m having fun. I’m not a cool guy doing cool things, just tinkering and having fun in airsoft games to find out what the other team’s freq’s are during games. Grateful for BrushBeater bringing a quality spectrum analyzer to the store – don’t have to worry about this one being a knock-off. Got mine set up in about 20 minutes, just waiting on some antennas. Super easy to navigate with a little stylus pen and the unit is responsive/quick processing. Came in a very nice box/well packaged and with several cables/accessories – nothing seems cheap or chinzy. With care, the stock antenna would work, but I decided to upgrade to more capable and robust antennas for the field. Very happy with my purchase – thanks!

Great tool
The thing works. It’s dummy proof, turn it on, click around and see what it does. If you do something weird to it, just turn it off and back on again. Has dual view for monitoring 2 bands at once(slows it down) but it will do it. Get one and go to class.
