The Appalachistan meme came about sometime back recognizing that the feral and free people of the Appalachian region only obey governance by choice, paralleling in many ways the Afghan who similarly could never be submitted.
The double grommeted 2x3 Black Flag, boldly printed with APPALACHISTAN in gold, is one take on the future flag of a wild and free people.

The flag says it all. Thanks, Brushbeater!
I'm originally from N.C. and spent many camping trips around Boone and Sparta. I know the attitude of the locals there. Every time I see that flag, it takes me back to many days of true freedom and a kinship to the hills and the hollers. I can relate to what that flag represents.
Out of the Ashes Book Series by J. W, Johnstone: Southern United States of America after the fall of the Tri - States experiment.
It is a good quality flag and arrived very quickly after I ordered it.
Love it
