Purchased for church safety team. Nice to be able to monitor an extra channel. Comms much clearer than previous radios.
Surprisingly clear. Build quality is way better than what I was expecting for price.
The new AR-5RM is a tall glass of water compared to it's predecessor the UV-5R. USB-C charging, larger overall size, dual band display, much easier to read with a better font, and larger buttons. If that's not enough you can't beat the price at BSI. The unit speaks for itself.
You don't have to go far to find a poser, a knuckle head or the like spouting off their two cents in regards to equipment and tactics. That's why I support BSI, Scout is the real deal, he and his crew have earned my respect. You get no non-sense real world insight into equipment, training and tactics.

I ordered 2 of the UV-5RMs, and one of them came with a faulty power switch. I reached out about returning and exchanging it, and the team just sent me a new one and said keep the old one for the extra battery. Thats pretty awesome. Will definitely be giving them more business just off that alone.
