Course Description:
The Basic Wilderness Survival course is a 2-day course designed to introduce students to the basic techniques of wilderness survival. Students will leave the course with the knowledge to survive 3 days in the woods with what they may carry on their person, no matter the conditions.
The majority of the class is taught outside, rain or shine, so bring the appropriate clothing for the weather. Students will have the option to sleep in their constructed shelters one night.
Students will learn:
Basic shelter construction
Basic Firecraft
Basic knots
Water procurement
Survival nutrition
Basic tool upkeep
No experience or gear is absolutely required for the class; however, the following gear may improve your experience. You will need a full-tang bushcraft-style knife for the firewood processing lab.
