Brushbeater Bolo
Brushbeater Bolo
The Brushbeater Bolo...an 8 inch cutting edge, quarter-inch thick chunk of 80CRv2 blade handcrafted right here in NC by Kyle Tepfer. What more needs to be said?
While small blades might be all the rage in the bushcraft community, I've found that a blade between 8-10 inches is just about perfect for chopping, battoning, cutting and carving. There's a reason the Bowie has survived as a design as long as it has and this is the outgrowth of Kyle and I brainstorming something between the Cephus Ham Bowie (Jim Bowie's bladesmith and close friend), the Von Tempsky, the Hospital Corpsman's bolo from WWII, and something an Appalachian Guerrilla might be carrying on his belt. This blade was designed to handle anything from survival and bushcrafting tasks to breaching and rescue.
Featuring the Brushbeater Diamond Resistor on one side and the Tepfer Armory logo on the other and coming with Maple, Tan Micarta or slip-resistant Rubber slab handles (previously only available to SEALs through Winkler) and a kydex sheath that can be worn in either a scout carry or traditional style with supplied MALICE clips.
