Light and tight - everything you need, nothing you don't. That's the design philosophy behind the Scout Rig. A lightweight, no-frills chest rig made of 500D Cordura to keep your gear streamlined to your body, keep a low profile, minimize noise in the woods, and serve as a semi-modular platform for adding MOLLE pouches where necessary such as our 152 Radio Pouch.

Over the years I've worked with countless designs, from chest rigs over IBAs we were running in Iraq to using modular panels in Afghanistan with plate carriers. And while lots of those designs were solid for the intended mission, the problem always boiled down to one reality - we were operating overtly in a semi-permissive environment. This is certainly not the case outside the usual military or governmental circles. The Armed Civilian is covert by nature and requires a low profile gear while maintaining a certain level of modularity to tailor equipment to specific missions. More often than not, that's keeping just a few mags on your chest, a place for a small set of binos, and a platform to carry your tactical or inter-team communications.

This leads us to the Scout Rig. Simple but bombproof in construction, easy to add admin pouches, and holds 4 AR-15, AK-74, or AK-47 mags with two small pouches on the front and one pocket in the rear. A fully adjustable H harness design insures maximum comfort under load for any body type or size in addition to fitting over body armor if the mission calls for it. This was designed to be a true no frills, no fluff, do-everything rig at a price that cannot be beat.

Available in Woodland, Coyote Tan, OD Green, and Multicam.

    Scout Chest Rig Review

The day after receiving the Scout Rig we had a class of 8 clients who all tried and commented on this chest rig. Reviews were... Overwhelmingly positive! The stitching is well done, no loose threads or missed stitches to be found. Seams all were even. Straps well placed. Adjustments fit everyone from 2XL to real skinny/small. Some comments were: "Gotta get me one". "Is that all this cost?", "Nice!". "This is surprisingly comfortable" One guy even had his doubts about the mag retention (his current setup for the heavy brush in the area is velcro flapped retention), so he put one of each AK and FAL mags with the sloped floorplate, a 30rd AR and a 20rd AR and then laid down and low crawled 25 or 30 yards. Didn't loose any mag! He was impressed, commenting on the tightness of the bungee retention (guess his previous experience with bungee wasn't as strong). With the included routing tabs/tunnels your cable/tube management is provided for as well. The rig is lightweight but seems very durable. So, we will continue to use this and see how it holds up but this class was two thumbs up for the BrushBeater Scout Chest Rig!

    Scout Rig

No surprise, like everything I’ve gotten from you it is well made, and very functional.
I’m an old guy. Been there, done that. Lots of broken bones and replacement parts. I won’t be running/gunning anywhere. I wanted a way of carrying extra mags to simply take care of my property and maybe my small community should the need arise. The Scout Rig fills that role nicely.

Thanks for putting out a quality product for a reasonable price.

    Great product

Very impressed with the quality of the material at unpacking. Haven’t field tested it yet, but just pulling and tugging on it confirms strong construction. What is most impressive is the obvious thought that went into the design of the rig. There is clearly attention to detail, by someone who understands the purpose/need of this product, that is really appreciated. One example is the velcro bands for adjusting the length of the straps that come attached to the straps. This not only prevents them from getting lost but ensures ease of use. Simple idea but makes a big difference and makes me want to purchase several more of these for my sons. There are several more examples I could write, but at this price point, buy one and see for yourself.

An amazing rig for the price

I expected the chest rig to be good based on other products you sell. However upon receipt I immediately put it on and was very pleased at the number of adjustments one could make. It fits very comfortable. The stitching is excellent. The material is lightweight but appears robust. I'm glad it was made with cordura. I bought a chest rig from another company for a 9mm pcc I have. It cost about $20 more than the Scout rig and is not as well made. So I'm hoping you come out with a Scout rig that will hold mags for a Scorpion. I am pleased and can't wait to field test it.
