The class was very informative and had a great portion that was “hands on” learning. The practice dummies and equipment provided allowed students to get a high fidelity training experience that was well suited for the class. Overall the instructors were well educated and had knowledge on a wide range of subjects that not only helped the class, but excelled the learners past the necessary objective.
The one critique I have about the class however is in regards to the instructors. While the class focuses on basic skills and the MARCH algorithm as it applies to non credentialed civilians, the instructors during several points shifted the conversations and learning towards advanced medicine and hospital setting procedures/practices. While this was informative, it took away from the objective of the class and at points would make students lose focus of that.
Overall the course was well worth my time and money and I would recommend it to friends and family. The instructors and lab simulations were well suited for the course objective.
So glad I took this class from Mech Medic. Goes well beyond a Stop the Bleed class. If you ever go to the range, operate a vehicle, hell if you ever leave your house you need these skills. It is true that all bleeding stops eventually, you don’t want it to be because the pump has run dry and that can happen in the middle of town just as fast as the middle of a conflict. You owe it to yourself, your family and your brothers to take this course. The training aids he has are huge but his teaching is top notch.
Excellent course. The instructor was very knowledgeable. He worked in excellent stories that helped learning. The hands on experiences provided real life situations. It was well worth my time.
It was a good review of things I haven’t though about in over 10yrs and things I did not know. Cleared up the confusion of yesteryear and current usage of tourniquets. The wound packer simulator was a bonus. First time using something like that.
I wished we would have either gotten hands on with a chest seal or at least demo’ed one.
Excellent! Craig did a wonderful presentation, answered all of our questions. Very worthwhile course for most valuable training. No one wants to get shot, but it could happen to you or someone dear to you, and you must know how to stop the bleeding quickly, in order to survive.
