Description

The Wool TAC Cloak is a tactical outer garment made of 100% natural wool. It is meant as a survival outer layer, giving maximum heat retention when the weather turns cold, and it provides a degree of thermal masking and obscuring.

It is handmade in Oregon by Free American Wool Clothing. A good piece for anyone who spends long nights outside, on a patrol base, in a hunting blind, or on a field exercise and wants a warm outer layer that can go over the rest of their kit.

    Excellent wool and construction

    The patch panel up front is a cute affectation (tactical!). The cloak is made of quality wool. It is the same quality as my 90’s era Gloverall duffle coat. The stitching and seams are great. It’s a simple design done perfectly.

    I wish that they linked back to the OEM for this, they deserve the publicity.

    A great cloak

    Have you ever seen a piece of gear that you thought “what’s the purpose of this thing?” That was my initial impression of the cloak. Let me tell you how wrong I was. Big enough to go over your plate carrier and helmet yet also not so insanely bulky you could easily put it under yours PC.

    Wool dries quickly and it does a great job of keeping you nice and toasty in the field.

    This isn’t some cheap stuff-medium weight wool that’s well crafted and thoughtfully designed .

    Thank you Brushbeater for yet another very well researched and executed piece of gear. This thing is beyond expectations. It works very well at mitigation of thermal signature, AND is a great piece of cold weather gear as well. Being wool, it’s insulation properties are still intact even when wet.
