Xiegu G90 HF Radio

Very user friendly radio with easily accessible controls. Sturdy housing, and the internal speaker actually has a very good sound. I’m impressed with the portability as well as the number of aftermarket accessories that fit it. Highly recommend this radio. For the money it’s hard to beat.

Brushbeater went above and beyond to communicate with me regarding this radio both before and after purchasing. Shipping got dicey, at no fault of the seller, but he stayed in touch as we both tried to figure out what USPS had done with the package. When it was finally sorted and the radio arrived, everything was packaged well and absolutely nothing was damaged despite the longer than usual time stuck in the post. Matt had good humor about everything and is by all accounts an excellent fellow. I highly recommend buying from this store, I picked it specifically because it had a stellar reputation and it defended that reputation at every opportunity.

As far as the radio goes, I'm early days yet with my model but having used a friends before, it's pretty much everything you need for tactical style HF and nothing you don't. The antenna tuner is especially good, and for building your own antennas in hairy conditions it can't be beat. Paired mine with a digirig in preparation for using this radio for JS8 call and it works like a charm. Performing a MARS mod on this radio is also especially easy, which will let you use a whole lot more of the spectrum if that's your kind of thing.

If you're on the fence, about Brushbeater or the radio, here's my advice- just buy it already. This seller will go above and beyond to take care of you and this radio is perfect for the kinds of people who end up buying tactical radio gear. Especially forgiving for beginners, tons of utility for the output conscious expert.

Outstanding

If you're looking for an HF rig that's small enough to take in the field and capable enough to do whatever you need this is the one to get.
For the price it's impossible to find another radio that offers the features and quality you get with a G90.
The only negative I've encountered so far is the user manual, it's the typical single line short description of each button's function with almost no theory of operation information. Fortunately there's a lot of information on the internet that helps work through the initial learning curve.
