  1. James Connolly (verified owner)

Concise. Practical. Simple as possible given the subject matter.

  2. Robert Goepp (verified owner)

    Great reference

Worth every penny. An excellent reprint of a vital book for communications.

  3. Tony Santos (verified owner)

    Great Content!

Excellent theory and practical skills to learn in this book. I will probably buy the regular sized book as well. (It would be cool if there were PDF version for sale :))

  4. John Dejarnette (verified owner)

    Worthwhile investment

Practical reference for building and employing antenna systems. Enough theory to be useful but not so much that you get discouraged (ARRL handbook – looking at you!). Valuable TTPs for clandestine antennas to avoid the angry HOA Karen. As a bonus, it offers good advice on split frequency operation.Overall well worth the price. A great adjunct to that famous book about Baofeng handheld radios. Also get the pocket version of the SF Antenna book. A handy reference for use outdoors.

Print way too small, unsatisfactory print quality.

I’m sure the information is useful. I appreciate these folks making this information available. However, in this small book, the extra wide margins, with nothing printed, makes the area that is printed on so small, that the type is so tiny that it is nearly unreadable. In addition to this, several pages have poor ink transfer and there are many words with missing/faint/unreadable letters. I emailed to ask if i could return this version and get the large print version, but I have not received a response.

    Great Spiral Bound Book

Solid information in a nice portable format.

    Print is TOO small

I agree with Brad’s review. The print is too small to read and the page margins are very wide, print size could have been increased to fill more of the page and make it more readable. I also notice that the transfer is faded and hard to read on some of the pages. I did not have this problem of readability with the field version of the guide to the Baofeng radio. Like brad I would like to return this and get a large print version but I noticed in the store policy Brush Beater does not accept returns on books. That’s unfortunate because these reprints of old army manuals are not so good.

    Print is TOO small

The reprint of this old manual is too small to comfortably read. The margins of the booklet that it was printed on are wide enough that the print size could have been increased with room to spare, which would have made it much easier to read. I asked the seller if I could exchange it for a large print version or get a refund and he has not responded back to me.

  9. Clayton Crabtree (verified owner)

    Great format, small print

The spiral bound notebook is a great idea but the print is nearly unreadable without a magnifier. I’d buy a reprint, if there were better use of the available page. The current version has a wide bleed, which is needlessly wasteful of valuable space.

good small size for field reference

Good size to take with out and about. I will be a good while before I am skilled enough to not need a reference source.

  11. Ted Montrose (verified owner)

Outstanding! Love the size and the detailed information included in this manual. It’s obvious the author knows what it takes. Look forward to delving into this more in the near future. Highly recommend it for those who want to understand more about commo and or refresh their understanding. Thanks NC Scout.

    Good Stuff!

Good quality and fast delivery is what one can expect from Mr. Brushbeater.

  13. John Peeler (verified owner)

Very small print, hard to read even with 20/20 vision.
