The battery tightens with a screw-down. When installing it make sure you losen the screw then tighten it. Failure to do so will fail to seat the battery securely.

This is the best bang for your buck when looking for a budget DMR setup. Nice max volume on the speaker too. I was able to program it both manually which is nice for quick setup in the field or with the CPS software which was not terribly difficult to use. If you programmed one DMR radio before you can do this with ease.

Review before receiving product?
What kind of company ask for a review on a product I haven’t received? I ordered on July 28th knowing it was going to be delayed, but it’s august 12th and still don’t even have a tracking number, almost 20 days after ordering. At the time of purchase the website stated 10 day wait on orders after the 23rd of July. I bought from this company because they had a sale and wouldn’t mind waiting a few extra days but looking at 15 days without a possible ship date in site is frustrating, I will never fall for that trap again, I will just pay full price on Amazon and get my product in a couple days

This unit is very impressive. A learning curve made easy by front panel programing! Battery life (mostly receive) was over a week with daily use, at about 2 hours a day. I could not “find” the volume bar graph, but not a big deal for now. BSI has done us all a solid here. I’m normally using Motorola for DMR,but it’s hard to program,expensive to buy into. I had to get help just to use the cps!
My plan is to load the software next week.Try to understand it’s use.

Not perfect but not expensive either
I now have four of these. The DM32 UV isn’t perfect but a lot of bang for the buck. I have Yaesu and Icom HT’s but I can’t afford to buy 4 of them. I will buy another 2 DM32’s so I have a six pack. Being in Texas our Radio Club has a small Storm/Crisis response team to care for our elderly members and help our community. The DM 32 is helping us standardize a platform and the CPS programming software is simple and straightforward. Again not a perfect radio but packed with useable features for the price. I have a shelf full of HT’s and many are high end. The DM32 has become my daily carry. Buy as many as you can to support your team and community.

Radio Defective
Hi, I sent a response in regards to the DM32 UV Radio that I had purchased 10 days ago. The uhf section of the radio is not receiving and you have to open up the squelch to barely hear anything. I contacted Baofeng Support and they stated that the reciever on uhf is probably off specs. I would like to return it since they told me by email to return it too the Distributor. I realize there is a restock fee. Your attention on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Decent addition to the collection.
This is by far the best build for a handheld that I’ve bought. Programming on the keyboard is decent, better if you use the proprietary software. I was able to program the ham channels of clubs in my area, gmrs and noaa channels fast. I’m dipping my toes into DMR so I don’t have any feedback on it yet. I’d definitely buy a 2nd to go with this for DMT capabilities though.

Incredible value
This is a shockingly powerful radio for the price. In additional to the DMR capabilities, which includes global navigation satellite services, its capable of AES 256 encryption, can listen (though not transmit) to air band, has a battery retention screw, and combined with a field expedient jungle antenna at either end, can reach out over 20 miles in mountainous terrain.
The one drawback I can find is that it has no waterproofing rating. It’s not terrible, but heavy rain for a long time can seep in.
Buy it, but keep it indoors if the weather is bad.

Anybody Out There
Setting up my Baofeng DM-32UV. Bought the data cable from Baofeng. Only have Mac products, so tried to get CSP software running in several different Windows versions of virtual machines. No go. Using keypad. Time consuming .Contacted the good folks at Brush Beaters. Dave was helpful & encouraging. Visited their YouTube channel. Overall, excited to have some SHTF comms. Thanks!

the Baofeng DM32 has been a solid addition to the collection. I picked it up for a few reasons, but high on the list was the ability for encrypted comms. GPS and Digital APRS are absolutely key as well. I picked up two from BSI and couldn’t be happier.
